Tucked away in Minneapolis is the home of Great Northern Boat Works, a warehouse filled with wooden boats of all shapes and sizes. The crew there takes great pride in restoring and maintaining wooden boats of all types from small sail boats to massive Chris-Craft boats. They are dedicated to preserving the tradition of wooden boats for many generations to come.

With a love of traditional methods, Chip Addington crafts bags with a modern twist. We spent a few days shooting with him, following his process to create waxed nylon bags.
Chip's work space is a photographer's dream, with big windows filling the room with soft natural light. We shot a lot of tight details to highlight the level of care and precision that goes into each bag he makes.
In a suburb just North of Minneapolis there is a dedicated group of hockey players that get together throughout the summer months. This is the MN Power Hockey league. This fast paced game is for people of all abilities with one common thing, all the players are in powered wheelchairs.
We teamed up with the league to produce a short video highlighting the sport, and what it means to be a part of it. Shooting the games was a fun challenge given the speed of Power Hockey. Working with the athletes was great, they were so willing to share their stories and passion for the game. We hope that this video will help spread awareness for the game and hopefully get more people involved in the sport. To learn more head over to the MN Power Hockey website.

Being connected to your work in a personal way is something that we always strive for as visual creatives. Seeing other creatives that have a personal connection to their work is inspiring. Recently, we worked with Teresa Audet who crafts handmade wooden goods. By working mainly with hand tools she has a true understanding of each piece that she makes that would be lost using power tools.
