This past May I went out to LA to visit with my Brother who just bought a new house. Vacations don't mean I stop working though, I carried at minimum 2 cameras with me at all times.

BOWLING

Youthful and free spirited, that was the mission for this shoot. Even before we started the models most of whom had just met, were already playing around together as if they had been friends for years. With that energy running through the entire team it translated well through to the final images.

KICKER PROJECT

This past spring I worked with The Kicker Project to shoot new images for the social media as well and promotional materials. The Kicker Project is a great program that provides the tools for underprivileged kids to go snowboard, which is a costly sport. 

The goal of the day on snow was to capture the interaction of the coaches and students, and the joy of being on snow.  throughout the day we rode different runs and capture the raw emotion of snowboarding as they unfolded.

BOOTSTRAP COFFEE ROASTERS PART 2

Part 2 of the project with Bootstrap Coffee Roasters. This video was created for their Kickstarter campaign but kept in mind a multi-use for the video outside of Kickstarter. We wanted to tell more of the story about Micah, the founder of Bootstrap Coffee, as well as showcase where they have been, and where they want to go as a company. BOOTSTRAP COFFEE ROASTERS PART 1

I have been working this winter on a two part project with a startup company called Bootstrap Coffee Roasters. We have been working to create still images for promotion as well as a video for a kickstarter campaign which will be released soon so stay tuned.

STAGHEAD MOTO SHOOT

This past fall I worked with director Tony Franklin and DP Alex Horner on a shoot with Staghead Moto. The goal was to capture the spirit of riding vintage motorcycles in one of the most scenic areas in the Midwest. Shooting out of the back of a moving van we were able to capture the spirit and seamlessly blend the look of the video and still images.

MIRACLE EAR

This past May I had the pleasure to work with Miracle Ear and Initio 3i. The shoot was one day on location at one of the newly renovated Miracle Ear stores. The goal was to create of body of work that highlighted the technology and types of customers Miracle Ear has. Our models ages ranged from 10 to 80. At the end of the day we walked away with a solid selection of images for Miracle Ear.

BARREL RACING

I recently called up local DP, Adam Buck, to see if he would be interested in doing a test shoot with me. His reply was something to the tune of "Hells yes!" This shoot was something I had in mind for the last year. There is such a dynamic working with horses from the sheer power they have to the skill of the rider.

Working closely with the rider we captured the atmosphere and energy of riding.   The use of slow-motion Adam captured really amplifies the energy of the horse as it goes full speed around the barrel, something that only lasts a moment yet is so complex when slowed down. At the end of the day we were happy with the outcome of our collaboration and the final product.

THE ROCKIES

Earlier this past month I took some time off to travel to Colorado with my girlfriend. We spent a couple nights in Boulder and Denver then headed up into the mountains for some camping. Along the trip I couldn't help but stop periodically to shoot the vast mountains. The highlight of the trip was when we reached the peak of Mount Elbert, the highest mountain in the Rockies, which tops out at 14,433ft. It took us over 10 hours to complete the hike but it was well worth the work.
